PDF SignerTerms of Use
Last updated 4 August 2026. These terms cover the PDF Signer Android app (com.webstei.pdfsigner) and this website, both provided by webstei.
In one paragraph. The app is free and you can use it for anything lawful. It signs documents on your own phone and we never see them. It creates an electronic signature, not a certificate-based digital signature. It is provided as it is, and you are responsible for what you sign.
1. Using the app
PDF Signer is free to download and free to use, with no account and no purchase. You may use it for personal or business documents. You may not use it to forge a signature, to alter a document you have no right to alter, or for anything else unlawful. You are responsible for having the right to sign what you sign.
2. What an electronic signature is here
PDF Signer places an image of your signature onto the page and flattens it into the file. That is an electronic signature. It is widely accepted for everyday agreements, forms and contracts, including under the United States ESIGN Act and the European Union eIDAS regulation, which recognise a simple electronic signature.
It is not a certificate-based digital signature. It does not use a cryptographic certificate from a certificate authority and it will not show a blue verification check in Adobe Acrobat. If a specific person, court or institution requires that kind of signature, this app is not the right tool and we say so plainly rather than let you find out later.
Whether any particular signed document is legally binding depends on your country, the type of document and the agreement between the parties. Nothing here is legal advice. If it matters, ask a lawyer.
3. Your files
Your documents and signatures stay on your device. We have no copy of them and no ability to recover them for you. Keep your own backups of anything important. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.
4. No warranty
The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We do our best to make it correct and reliable, but we cannot promise it is free of faults, that it will open every PDF ever made, or that it will suit a particular purpose.
5. Limits of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, webstei is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, including lost documents, lost business or a document not being accepted by someone. Since the app is free, any liability that cannot be excluded is limited to the amount you paid for it, which is nothing.
Nothing in these terms removes any right you have under the consumer law of your own country that cannot be removed by agreement.
6. Changes
These terms may be updated, and the date at the top will change when they are. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not, uninstalling the app ends the agreement completely.
